Driver Age

The minimum age of the driver is 21 years. Drivers under 21 years of age may in some cases be able to rent a car for an additional €10 per day on top of the official price list. The maximum age of the driver is 80 years.

Driving License

The driver’s license must have been issued at least 1 year ago. If the driver comes from a country outside the European Union, an international driving license is required.

Payment Methods

The estimated rental fee is paid in advance upon delivery of the car either in cash or with Visa, Euro and Master Card.

Vehicle Use

Regular vehicles, except jeeps, are prohibited from driving on unpaved roads. In case of violation of this condition, the customer is responsible for repairing any damage found on the underside of the vehicle, its wheels and tires, plus the cost of replacing any filters and special cleaning.

Car Delivery

When delivering the car, the renter must ensure that any damage or deficiencies of the car are detailed in the rental contract. Upon return, he will be solely responsible for any damage or deficiencies not recorded in the rental contract.

Car Return

The car is returned to the office from which it was collected unless the rental contract states another return location. In the event that the renter is late in returning the car, an additional day will be charged. In case you wish to return the car to another station, please inform us as soon as possible. Additional charges may apply. The renter is charged €30 for cleaning the car if it is excessively (unusually) dirty upon return.

Early Return

The rental period begins and ends according to the detailed delivery and collection dates and times stated in the contract, the price of which will be confirmed at the time of booking and is calculated based on a 24-hour meter. Unfortunately, no refunds are given in the event of late pick-up, early return or unused days.

Cancellations:

If you wish to cancel your reservation you must send a cancellation notification email.

If we receive your cancellation notification 5 days before your scheduled pick-up date and time, then there is no cancellation fee.
If we receive your cancellation notification 24 hours to 3 days before your scheduled pick-up date and time, then the cancellation fee is equal to one day’s rental.
If we receive your cancellation notice up to 24 hours before the pick-up date and time or if you do not pick up the vehicle then no refund will be given.

Vehicle Breakdown

In the event of a breakdown or technical issue please call our 24-hour support line. We will send a mechanic to assess the problem as soon as possible. If the fault cannot be resolved immediately we will replace the vehicle. If we determine that the technical issue arose from misuse or non-compliance with the terms and conditions, we reserve the right to repossess the vehicle without replacement.

Fuel

The car must be returned with the same amount of fuel as delivered as stated in the contract. No refunds will be given for excess fuel in the tank.

Guarantee

For rentals, upon receipt of the car, a guarantee amount of €150 – €1000 is reserved depending on the car category. The payment of the guarantee is made by debit card or in cash. If the Vehicle is returned after rental in the same condition in which it was received by the renter, then the guarantee will be returned in the same way as the payment of the amount. This process can take up to 14 days depending on the card issuing bank. Each car category consists of different models with similar characteristics. We cannot guarantee that you will receive the exact make, model or color you requested, however we guarantee that you will receive a car of the category you booked or if there is no availability in the selected category, a larger one.

Partial Damage Waiver (C.D.W) The renter has the option, after consultation with Germanos Car Line and for a charge of 12.50 per day, to choose partial damage waiver insurance, which in the event that the rental vehicle is involved in a traffic accident or is damaged, the renter has insurance coverage with individual financial liability up to €450. In the event that the renter does not choose the additional insurance and if he is involved in a traffic accident or the rental vehicle is damaged, then the renter’s individual financial liability amounts to an amount of €600 – €2500. In any case, the renter’s liability for damage to the rental vehicle is limited, provided that the Highway Code (HCR) is not violated.

At Germanoscarline (hereinafter referred to as “we” or “the store”), we recognize the importance of protecting your personal data and are committed to processing it responsibly and in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR).

During your visit to our store or during your communication for rentals or sales, we may collect the following personal data:
• Name and surname
• Home address
• Contact telephone number and email
• Payment details.
• Rental details (e.g. start and end date, rental products/services)

2. Purpose of personal data collection

Personal data is collected for the following purposes:
• Processing orders/rentals
• Contacting you for rental or purchase follow-up purposes
• Processing payments and issuing invoices
• Improving our services and customer experience

3. How we protect your data

We take strict security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, modification or deletion. These include the use of encryption for transactions and the implementation of technical and organizational measures for data security.

4. Data retention period

Personal data will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of their processing and in any case in accordance with tax and commercial record legislation.

Vehicle Categories
Each car category consists of different models with similar features. We cannot guarantee that you will receive the exact make, model or color you have requested, but we guarantee that you will receive a car of the category you booked or if there is no availability in the selected category, a larger one.

Violations of the Code of Conduct

All fines and consequences of traffic violations are the responsibility of the renter.

Pet Policy

Upon request, we allow you to transport your pet in the rental vehicle at no additional charge, with the main condition that your pet will be kept in a cage or a special box at all times. For hygiene reasons, the vehicle must be returned to its original condition and in case biological cleaning is required, the renter will be charged a fee of €75

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited inside the rental vehicle. In case of violation, the renter will be charged €80.

Keys

Keys and locks are not covered by the combined insurance (FDW & WUG). The renter is responsible for the cost of replacing and repairing the keys and the lock. There is also a charging policy for retrieving keys locked inside the vehicle

Rentals outside the borders – It is expressly forbidden to transport the car to an island. Rentals for trips outside the Greek borders are not possible.

Snow chains free

Snow chains are provided upon request.

In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately:

notify germanoscarline immediately

not acknowledge fault or guilt and claims of third parties in any way, direct or indirect.

inform the nearest traffic police.

obtain the names, addresses and telephone numbers of those involved in the accident.

not move the car before the traffic police and the insurance company representative arrive at the scene of the accident.
